This course sets out to introduce simple computing tools for molecular biologists. It is intended for users with a reasonable background in molecular biology but little or no experience of using the available computer resources. The course is based around an investigation into the disease aniridia. We have chosen a well researched human topic as it allows us best to demonstrate how information can be obtained both by analysis of raw sequence data and by interrogation of information resources where previously determined facts are organised and stored.

This course will benefit anyone in a work environment and is designed to provide candidates with an understanding of health and safety requirements placed on employers and employees. If you require training before the next planned course please contact the course leader as it may be possible to arrange some training earlier if there is enough demand. There will be a nominal fee (20 ukp) for certification with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health if you are a member of the University. If the University is not your employer, please contact the course leader for details and fee. Please note candidates must bring their University Card or another form of photo ID with them on the day in order to be able to attend the course.

You will learn the basics of routing, switching, and advanced technologies to acquire the skills required to provide a robust and secure network in your institution and it prepares you for CCNA certification.

We offer this program as instructor led with remote access to the curriculum and an online networks laboratory called NETLAB. There is a mix of lecture, demonstrations and a heavy emphasis on practical activities using live lab equipment and a simulation package. Further details and pricing information are available.

This is the first module of four modules in CCNA.
