SPSS: Getting Started (computer-based tutorial)

The SPSS for Windows statistical package includes a built-in Tutorial and a set of Case Studies. When SPSS is launched, the Tutorial is one of the options offered. Alternatively, it may be found under the Help menu where the Case Studies are also located.

Overview, getting data into SPSS, creating tables and calculating statistics, working with output, creating and editing charts, and getting help.

There is also an excellent introduction in the SPSS Guide to Data Analysis book available for loan from library of self-taught courses, and another computer-based tutorial "Statistics for the Terrified" on the PWF PCs.
